AFCON 2025: Osimhen declares Super Eagles ready to win title
After their stellar start at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Victor Osimhen says the Super Eagles are determined to dominate the continent once more, according to the DAILY POST.
Thirteen years have passed since the Super Eagles' previous AFCON championship in South Africa.
After losing 2-1 to the hosts, Cote d'Ivoire, in the final, they nearly won the championship the last time.
With their outstanding performances against Tunisia and Uganda, the West Africans have made it clear that they are prepared to go all the way in Morocco.
So far in the competition, Osimhen, Raphael Onyedika, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, and Akor Adams have all excelled.
The Galatasaray forward stated that the team is prepared to defeat every opponent this time.
It will mean a great deal to Nigeria as well as to me and the entire squad. This trophy hasn't visited Nigeria in a very long time.We make it very evident with every practice that our goal is to win the trophy', Osimhen said to ESPN.
Next week, at Fès, Nigeria will play the Mambas of Mozambique in the Round of 16.
