NNPC Retail Hosts Second She-Fix Initiative in Abuja to Promote Women's Inclusion in Energy Sector

In a concerted effort to foster gender diversity and celebrate female achievement, NNPC Retail Limited, a subsidiary of NNPC Ltd., convened the second edition of its flagship women-focused program, She-Fix 2.0, in Abuja on Saturday. The event, themed "Driving Diversity, Powering Progress," drew over 300 women professionals, entrepreneurs, technicians, and industry leaders.

Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, emphasised the importance of inclusion for national development and called for increased opportunities for women in technical and STEM fields. She praised NNPC Retail's initiative and urged ongoing collaboration between the government and corporations to expand its impact.

Sophia Mbakwe, Executive Vice President of Business Services at NNPC Limited, highlighted that women's contributions are integral at all levels of the company, especially through NNPC Retail, which connects directly with ordinary Nigerians. She underscored the significance of diversity within this vital interface.

Managing Director Huub Stokman, represented by Valentina Kojo, stressed that women’s empowerment should be practical, visible, and sustainable. NNPC Limited’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, noted that women in the energy sector are leading change, shaping industry narratives, and building institutions. He reaffirmed that women's leadership drives organisational growth and societal prosperity.

Highlights of She-Fix 2.0 included panel discussions, live car care demos, a marketplace for female-led businesses, interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and exclusive discounts on Oleum Lubricants and NR-GAS LPG, reaffirming NNPC Retail's dedication to gender equity across the energy value chain.

The panel featured top women from sectors such as energy, finance, technology, and governance, including Emmanuella Arukwe, Maryamu Idris, Oremeyi Akah, Toyin Alasi, and Adaeze Nwakoby.

Building on the success of the 2025 Lagos edition, She-Fix 2.0 signifies NNPC Retail's ongoing commitment to creating lasting opportunities for women in Nigeria’s energy industry.
